Update Aura securely
Update Aura from the app with verified replacement, visible progress, and automatic restart.
Use this guide with Aura
Open Aura, then keep this guide beside it while you follow the steps. Aura does not receive the page text, your account, your project, or anything you typed.
If nothing opens, start Aura normally. The written steps still work.
Before you start
- Aura AI is already installed.
- Aura has downloaded and verified an available update.
Plan and model funding
Updating Aura does not charge a subscription, wallet, or model provider.
Say this in ordinary language
No prompt is required.
Steps

Open Aura's update notice or Settings, then download the update.
What you should see: Aura shows the target version and verifies the release manifest, size, and checksum.

Select Update and restart after active Aura work finishes.
What you should see: Aura confirms that it will close, update, and reopen; an idle connected game editor does not block the update.

Approve the standard Windows elevation prompt.
What you should see: A compact update progress window replaces Aura without showing the full first-install Setup wizard.

Let Aura reopen automatically and review the update result.
What you should see: Aura proves the installed version matches the approved release and shows a dismissible success result or exact recovery details.

Open one existing project and run a safe read-only question.
What you should see: The hub and plugin reconnect successfully.
What Aura may change
Aura program files and bundled engine integrations are updated. User projects are not replaced.
How to verify it worked
Confirm the installed version, sign-in state, project connection, and one safe request.
Undo or recover
If elevation is declined or replacement fails, Aura records the failing stage and relaunches the still-runnable current version without claiming success.
Common problems
- If Aura reports that active local work is still running, finish or stop that work and retry.
- If the update result reports a checksum, Setup exit, relaunch, or version mismatch, keep Aura open and use the shown recovery details; do not run an unverified download.
